But City Chic’s coupon code for 30% off, 3ON3W isn’t working.. at least not for me.
After my Forever 21+ rant, I really wanted to buy clothes that I know will fit me and make me feel beautiful. However, four shirts came out to be $216 and when I plugged in my coupon code, it wouldn’t work.

I’m not sure if you guys know, but I’m in college and can’t afford $216 worth of clothes. Even when I’m not in college, I can’t afford that. I don’t understand why plus size clothing retailers must charge us so much money. It’s because we buy it because we NEED clothes. Seriously, we can’t walk around because it’s like illegal, but they overcharge us all the time and it’s not fair. Especially since CC’s clothes aren’t really the best quality. If I’m paying 50 bucks for a shirt, I’d rather just not spend the money at all. It’s complete and total bullshit and I’m not happy about this.

Grant it, CC has free back and forth shipping, but still, it’s not worth even buying anything for that price. As a result, I am in serious depression right now. I don’t get why I can’t buy somewhat nice clothes for a somewhat inexpensive price.

Sigh.

Annoyed

I’m sorry I haven’t been posting, but I have a lot to tell you about. On a meaner note, I just received a package from Forever 21. I was really excited because they had free shipping, so I bought three shirts and two necklaces. The total came out to be $80. I just got my purchase today and am less than happy.

Literally, I’m frowning. That’s how annoyed I am. First of all, one of the necklaces was nice. The other one, not so much. Not only was it not that nice, but one of the feathers was off it before I even opened it up. And if you don’t know, all jewelry from F21 is final sale. So you know me, I called the corporate offices and freaked out. It’s not longer in it’s original package, I put it in a baggie, but I don’t even care. I shouldn’t have to pay money for something that has poor workmanship.

My next problem was with two of the shirts. Well, this shirt was nice (Shimmer Leopard Sweater). It’s a little small right now because I ordered a size smaller than I usually do because I’ve been losing weight. But I’m keeping it because it looks cute and will give me an incentive to lose more weight. Now here’s where Ms. Carly gets angry:

1. Cargo Pocket Button Up – It looked like absolute shit when I pulled it out of the packaging. It was all wrinkled, but I didn’t care. I tried it on and I was right, it was absolute shit. It was basically see through because there was nothing to it and the way it folds over looks just weird. I’m not sure if it’s my body shape or something, but it’s extremely unflattering to me and just made me look boxy. I was really upset because I am losing weight and I should feel confident about myself and this shirt made me feel really crappy about how I looked.

2. Crochet Trim Peasant Top (White) – Now, I was a little iffy about this shirt when I bought it first. But, I tried to stay positive, so I bought it. The top part of it actually looked really cute, but it was the whole fold over thing that just looked weird on me. And again, it was basically see through because of the lack of material to it.

And I know, I know. I PAID cheap money for this. But I just feel like it was completely unflattering. Grant it, it looks nice on the XS model, but think about the regular plus sized girl. who doesn’t look good in everything she wears. I feel like all the clothes look perfect on the model when in reality, they’re actually shitty clothes that don’t look good on people normally. I’m not going to lie, I’ve had positive experiences buying from Forever 21. I give them credit when credit is due, but this was so disappointing. I was SO excited, I thought it was going to look great and I just feel fat and ugly now.

Clothes shouldn’t make you feel fat and ugly. And it sucks that I now have to spend like 8 bucks on shipping because Forever 21+ creates crappy clothes. Rant is over. Sorry.

Selling Some of My Old Clothes

I’ve lost some weight recently (I’ll post about it soon!) and some of my clothes don’t fit me anymore. Since I REALLY need new clothes because my clothes are all big now, I’m selling some shirts. My Lovely Readers,

I am sorry for not posting lately. It was really hard to get back into the swing of things this semester. It’s been really hectic and honestly, I cannot wait to finish up this semester. I’m taking 19.5 credits and  am basically dying, so just bear with me if I don’t post as much as I should be.

Any who, exciting news of the day… I’M ON A DIET. A real diet that I promise to keep through with because 1. it’s good for me and 2. I’m paying for it. What diet do you think I’m on right now?

Weight Watchers! I’ve never truly been on Weight Watchers before. I used to cheat the system; I had my friend give me some of their old books and I would just do everything, just not go to the meetings. Now, I decided to pay the $40 a month and am officially on Weight Watchers, meetings and all!

Let me tell you, I really enjoy this diet! It’s been two weeks and I’ve lost 4.4 lbs already! Speaking of a diet, I’m about to run to the dining hall. I’ll do a post tomorrow, hopefully! 🙂

OOTD: :)

So here are picture from my friend’s birthday party two weeks ago. I got this shirt at Forever 21, it’s called the Sheer Button Up Top. Online, they only have it in black currently but let me tell you, it’s ADORABLE in the white. Like seriously, I loved this outfit. I got so many compliments from my friends. I love the way it flares out at the side (you can see it in the first and last picture).

My one complaint is the way it gets longer at the back. I mean, this is more of a personal problem. I only had one cami and it was a lot longer than the front of the shirt. It’s hard to explain, but I folded my cami so it was shorter. It’s just that when I wear the cami at it’s regular length, it was longer than the shirt in the front. I really can’t explain this, lol. So my one piece of advice would be to make sure you have a shorter cami to wear under it because it’s see through, obviously.

I wore this shirt with a CC cami underneath, then I wore dangly earrings (they broke, so I don’t have a picture of them), an Anne Klein watch (the one I wanted for xmas!), and the necklace was from Urban Outfitters. I paired it with guess what, my black Bandolino boots. A better idea would have been to wear my brown boots, but they have heels on them and since I walked to my friend’s house, I didn’t want to wear heels lol. I also wore a brown headband with it. Oh! And CC jeans.

I really like this shirt. I wore it two nights ago too when I went to the city. It’s more of the kind of shirt you wear going out. It’s a cute shirt, but seems a little dressed up in my opinion for class or something. I also think it needs to be accessorized in order for it to work really well. I also unbuttoned my first two buttons so that the cami showed over the top. When it’s buttoned all the way, it’s kind of blah in my opinion.

SALE ALERT/Torrid Look Book Review

Yay! My favorite thing to post EVER are about sales; so check out this cray cray sale at TORRID!

Torrid rarely has “good” sales. It’s like 5 dollars off a pair of jeans or something stupid. But this, for once, is actually really good (considering their stinginess). They are offering buy 1, get 1 50% off on everything. I think that’s really really good for them. Also, they added an extra 50% discount to their clearance. They are also continuing their old sale from the New Year, which included deals such as $20 off boots, $9.99 twist tees, $29.99 denim, etc. etc. But beware, it’s not as good as it seems.. it’s select pieces and by now, most of the clothes are sold out. But still, shop your butt off at Torrid. If I had the money, I definitely would. They added some really hot new arrivals that I’m really loving, so make sure you buy me some clothes (size 1, please, thanks xoxo). 😉

On another note, I really like the Torrid’s new look book, Sweet Escape. I love the colors. I remember when I first start out buying clothes from Torrid, EVERYTHING I owned was black. Even when they tried to create pieces with colors and stuff; I just never liked the outfits that much. But this year, they are seriously making a change. I’m so excited! Here are some of my favorite pieces.

Coral Pleated Double Layered Tank Top  – I never really liked this shirt when it is showed on the model by itself. However, I’ve seen other people wearing it (on some other blog) and on this model and gosh, I love it! I saw the shirt in the store and it doesn’t look like this at all, it looks as if the first layer overlaps and I feel like that makes the model look frumpy. But here, it doesn’t. I really want to check it out myself! B+ (only because I’m not fully sure of how it would look on me)

Coral White Navy Color Block Tube Dress – I really like this picture on the model in the look book. But when scrolling through the clothes in the beginning, this dress didn’t look half as nice. The colors are so much bland in the picture online and I know there are some lighting adjustments and effects on these pics, but seriously. It looks ADORABLE on the model! However, I do feel that the belt really adds a nice touch to the outfit. A-

Blue And Pink Color Block Pocket Tank Top – I’m happy to say I bought this top already! Last time I was at Torrid, I grabbed this shirt. It is really cute. It’s simple, but the hot pink pocket on the front really adds a nice touch. I know you can’t see the back from the picture, but it also has a really cute back to it too where the pink is shown again. I can’t really explain it, go to the picture though! But the colors are a lore bright in real life, so I definitely think you should all buy it! I love this shirt. My only complaint is that I’m in between sizes right now and got the shirt in a 1, but it’s kind of small. Rawr. It’s just an incentive to lose weight. So, I’ll give it an A-

Overall, I really like this look book. I love the colors they use and the model looks great! I seriously love how they are really going out there and trying to make clothes that look like what everyone else would be wearing. I feel like I could walk into any skinny store and buy these clothes. It’s so nice to know that although we’re purchasing plus size clothes, the clothes don’t necessarily look like they’re made for “bigger” people. Perff! xoxoxoxo

OOTD: Cuteness :)

Let’s be honest for a second, I haven’t done anything really this break. I’ve done lots of practicing and cleaning the house. For instance, it’s almost 5pm and I’m still in my pajamas. I really need a life. As a result, I am forced to go through old facebook pictures to make postings on here.

So here was an outfit that I wore one day for classes. I then was busy and had to go to a concert in the music school and by the time I got home, everyone was going out. So instead of spending a billion years to plan an outfit, I just blinged it up a little bit. I put on a long dangly necklace (it’s hard to tell, but ti’s the gold and black necklace on the right) and then I threw a leather jacket over it. The jeans are from City Chic, boots are Bandolino, and the shirt is CC also. The Puff Elbow Sleeve Top is ADORABLE. I wish you all could see the design on the shoulders, but this guy’s hand is on my shoulder haha.

I seriously love this shirt though. It fits extremely well and the shirt is in a bunch of designs, I already purchased the shirt in black, the gray hearts, the polka dots, and the white bows. Lucky for me, I bought it when it was 60% off, so I went a little crazy. This shirt is perfect for wearing casual for classes, but can be dressed up just as easy. 🙂 🙂

Forever 21+ Success

If you read my last post, you’d see that I had some trouble when shopping at the Forever 21 on Long Island. But I still had some hope left in me when I went to NYC, which is like one of the bigger Forever 21 stores ever. Incase you were wondering where it is, it’s in the middle of Times Square and it is HUMONGOUS. It is four floors, YES I SAID IT.. FOUR FLOORS of adorable clothing at a cheap price. I love it.

So, I went to the plus size section and it was alright. First of all, I wish it was a little bigger. I know it “technically” is still a new business venture of Forever 21, but I wish it was bigger. It took up about I’d say 1/6 of the third floor. The floors are big, I’d just like to see more of a selection. I’m going to stop bitching now, let’s get to the review of my shopping day experience.

So I’ve been DYING for a blazer, I got money from my mom’s boyfriend for a blazer and when I shopped at Torrid, I couldn’t find any blazers that looked good. I always have trouble with jackets and stuff for some reason, City Chic jackets never worked and Torrid’s were always a little weird on me. And I know Forever 21 has some cute blazers, so I first started trying the blazers on. They fit pretty well, but the problem was that the sleeves were too long. And even when I rolled up the sleeves on the blazer, it just didn’t look that good. It was really upsetting, but I persevered, knowing that I had to find something cute there. I couldn’t give up hope over something silly like a blazer.

So my mom and I shopped around the section. I learned that at Forever 21, you have to do A LOT of digging around. The store is messy and there’s always like clothes packed on the racks. When you grab one shirt, three other shirts fall off and it’s just really frustrating to shop there. But luckily, I was able to find a couple of cute items that I’m really happy about.

First, I found this amazing Red Fleece Jacket. The jacket also comes with a hoodie in gray which adds a cute touch. I can’t wait to take a picture wearing it because it seriously is so much cuter in person than it is online. It’s not that heavy though, but I’m not expecting it to be at the price. The only complaint I really have is that it has a deep v-neck when it’s buttoned. So you basically always have to wear a scarf with it. But it’s really cute and it looks a lot more elegant than a 30 dollar purchase. A++++++ So happy with this purchase.

I really love one of my sweaters that I got from Forever 21 over the summer, it was really comfortable and cute, so I was looking for another one. I luckily found this shirt, the Heathered Crochet Bib Top. It’s really cute and is perfect just to wear with jeans. I really like it because it’s nice enough to wear to something nice, but makes a quick easy outfit that’s not only cute, but comfortable to wear. A-

The last thing I got as was the Striped Bow Swing Tank. This shirt is SUCH a steal! It is a cute shirt and was only $8.80. Like I would buy any shirt despite what it looked like as long as it fit for that price. It’s really cute with the bow and sits well. I feel like it’d be a perfect shirt for when it gets hotter. I also was trying it on and put a jacket over it and it also looked good. A

The last thing I got is my favorite shirt ever. Although it hasn’t been posted on the F21 website yet, this is the closest thing I could find. The Eyelet Back Blouse is really similar to it. The only difference is that the shirt has a cream/see through color to it and there is like a racerback design on the back of it. It seriously though is one of my favorite shirts I’ve ever gotten. I wore it out the other night and got SO MANY compliments on it. Especially when it’s paired with great accessories. I was trying it on in the changing rooms or whatever it’s called and couldn’t stop smiling once I put it on. It looks exactly like something my friends would wear. I’ve always complained that I just want to look like all other girls my age, so it was really nice to do that. A++++++++++++ A+++++++

Let’s not get ahead of ourself, last time I bought like 50 shirts and was head over heels in love with Forever 21. I got a couple of items, my total was 66 bucks (which was lovely), but I just wish there was more of a selection. F21 clearly has a great design team because so many people shop there to begin with. I just wish they would get the designers that make clothes for the skinnier people to get clothes to make for us.

Forever 21+ Fail

My older brother’s girlfriend gave me a Forever 21 gift card for Christmas. So my mom and I decided to venture out a couple days after Christmas and went shopping to get me some cute plus sized clothes. I’ve only gone to the Forever 21+ in NYC and last time I went, I bought so many clothes and they were all cute! So my mom and I drove like a billion miles to the only mall on LI that had a Forever 21+. And once we got there, let me tell you how absolutely PISSED I am at Forever 21.

First off, the store was a MESS. Grant it, F21 is always a mess because it’s F21. Bu this time it was a caps lock mess, which is extremely messy. Once I walked into the plus size section, I automatically got a headache and had to mentally prepare myself for the digging that was about to occur.

As I browsed for about an hour through EVERY SINGLE rack of clothing, I came up with nothing. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was such a disappointment. All the clothes were boring as hell. Just bland t-shirt and lots of dresses. I understand that New Years Eve was a couple days away (from the time I went shopping), but it was like a couple of shirts and a billion dresses.

It was really such a disgrace. I made my mom drive 45 minutes to go to a crappy ass F21. It was messy and all the clothes were boring and crappy. Grant it, we all know that the materials are crappy. But there was ONE jacket that was adorable that was in my size and guess what? The zipper was broken off of it. It’s just really depressing.

However, I’m going to NYC tomorrow and will be hoping that my gift card will be put to good use. If F21+ sucks, I’m going to buy scarves and lots and lots of earrings and necklaces lol. But anyways, quick post. See you all later this week! xoxo

Happy New Year! 2k12!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all are home safe and have recovered from your hangovers!

So for once in all my history of blogging, I’m going to post myself wearing an outfit that I actually wore for the day. Well, I wore it last night. I wish I had better pictures in the outfit, but I left my camera at school. Sorry! Well, I’m going to make a post about my shopping adventures from a couple days ago probably like tomorrow, so I’ll save you the story. But basically, I got this shirt from Torrid, haha.

Now, I REALLY love this shirt. It’s so cute and doesn’t involve a lot to put together. I got this shirt from Torrid. Now, I only have like one complain about my shirt. And it’s my fault. I’m kind of in between sizes right now at Torrid because I lost weight while at school. So like size 2 is too big on me in this shirt, it bags way too much in the stomach area, but fits well around my chest. The size 1 fits around my stomach well, but it’s a little small on my chest. So my ta-tas are out like cray.

And when I say cray, I mean CRAY. I decided not to be so boring looking by wearing a black tank under it, so I wore a magenta one that I got from a CC shirt I bought a while back. It added a nice bit of color and I was able to wear pink and gold dangly earrings to kind of sparkle it up a little.

I try to shy away from black because I used to ALWAYS wear black. We all know that black is that go to color for us girls, but I want to wear something fun. I hate that I used to look like I was going to a funeral everyday. But I let go of my guard and bought this shirt and I’m really happy I did. I just need to work out a little more and get a smaller in the boobage area.

I paired it with CC jeans and bandolino black boots. It was cute and not hard to prepare for. I did have trouble for a while trying to accessorize it, but I just kept it simple.
